June 30th Canada Day Countdown Free Rock Concert 5pm-1am Come join us on the Market Square Boardwalk as we ring in Canada Day the second it arrvies at midnight with a free rock concert. You must be 19 years of age to attend. Groove to the sounds of Joel Plaskett and the Emergency and other exciting bands and performers!
July 1 - Canada Day Schedule:
Rhoda's Uptown Market & Bingo 8:00am - 4:00pm Canada Day welcomes the largest flea market and craft fair of its kind in the province with hundreds of local vendors selling their wares along King Street and Charlotte Street. Come seek out that perfect find, or try your luck at the charity Bingo beginning at noon.
New this year - "Art in the Park" Come to King Square and indulge your senses with a sample of Saint John's finest. Artisans from the area will be showcasing their work and talent.
Beach Volleyball Tournament 9:00am - 5:00pm This annual event welcomes teams from across the region with a fine display of Canada Day Team Spirit!
Skateboard Competition Come out to our AWESOME new Station 1 Skateboard Park and show us your stuff! The first ever Mayor's Cup will be presented! Good Times! Registration at 11:30 to 12:50 Start @ 1:00 for ages under 13 2 consecutive heats for ages under 13 -then a best trick for under 13 Second round start @ 2:30 for ages 13 and over 2 consecutive heats for ages 13 and over - then best trick for 13 and over Prizes will be awarded between 4 and 5pm! Mayors Cup trophy presented by Mayor Ivan Court to first place winner!!! Email: ty.presh@gmail.com Canada Day People Parade 11:00am - 12:00pm This is a spectacle not to miss! Beginning at King Square the parade make its way down King Street to City Hall. Don't miss this collaboration of the beautiful diversity representing our Nation.
Opening Ceremonies Following the parade, the flag raising ceremonies will take place in front of City Hall. The parade will then commence into the Atrium at Market Square where the opening ceremonies will take place. Everyone is welcome to join in the festivities in the Atrium, including opening remarks by local dignitaries, the famous 8'x8' Canadian Flag cake and of course, the singing of our national anthem.
Childrens Activities 1:00pm-4:00pm A multitude of free childrens activities are offered on the Boardwalk and in Market Square. Come meet the Sea Dogs Mascot, 'Splash' as well as the 'A&W Root Bear.' Just a few of the activities offered are; face painting, prizes, tattoos, flags, pins, HUGE bounce ride and Bungee Ride, sidewalk chalk, bubbles. Entertainment by Water Street Dinner Theatre, Danceability, Jon Mulane & Dee (former Canadian Idol Participant), Zany Lane, Bernie the Magician, entertaining "RCMP Ride" characters....and much more!!! Don't forget Saint John Idol on the Market Square Boardwalk at 8:00pm, with a SPECTACULAR show of fireworks to wind up the day! Dora the Explorer and Diego Dora and Diego will be coming to Uptown Saint John on July 1st and will be hosting 10 lucky winners win a private Canada Day party with the 2 of them, with prizes, photos, etc. Uptown Ghost Gallivant Join David Goss and his crew on this very popular tour with props and captivating narration. Canada Day at the Saint John City Market 9:00am - 4:30pm
Visit the Market on Canada Day to take in the many local artisans and crafters, International foods, restaurants and seafood.
11:00am - 3:00pm
Bring the kids to "The City Market's Kid's Canada Day Open Air Carnival" on Germain Street. Fun, games and prizes. Donations will gladly be accepted for the Saint John Boy's and Girls Club. (rain location, City Market Solarium)

Canada Day at the New Brunswick Museum
